Pretech's Dynamic Measurement and Diagnosis of Mechanical Systems and Parts
The first step is measurement, with the purpose of quantifying and qualifying the dynamic versus the static nature of the system behavior. The second step is diagnosis-determining, given what has been measured, the most likely mechanisms that are causing the system to fail. Then, with the two sets of data and the dynamic diagnosis, a description of when and why the system failed is created. Finally, a prescription is written for the cure or redesign.
