Pretech, Incorporated was established and technologically developed as a subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company in early 1970. In 1974, Dr. Jan E. Borhaug acquired the subsidiary and reorganized it as a separate corporation. Under the leadership of Dr. Borhaug, Pretech has continued operation and expansion in the field of in-depth mechanical analysis and design.

Based 25 miles east of San Francisco, California, the company operates as a full-service diagnostic testing laboratory. The core group includes a full-time technical staff of around ten, with more than fifty associate specialists in different fields available for immediate consultation.

With its field test teams and complete analytical and engineering staff, Pretech provides a wide range of dynamic measurement, diagnostic, and malfunction design services. Pretech’s client base includes Fortune 500 companies and municipalities throughout the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world.

Because Pretech is not affiliated with the mechanical equipment manufacturing industry, the firm is able to maintain a unique position in the marketplace. Pretech’s singular function is to maximize the profits of our clients by serving their individual needs with world-class, cost-effective services.
